about
Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers will make a sprightly young groove doctor out of anyone. With spectacular energy pulsating from every member of the band, the Rainbow Seekers could illuminate the very chambers of Heaven. Lead singer Joe Hertler splashes through lyrical puddles of golden rain, leaving his audience wearing flowery crowns and bubbling smiles. A ride on the Rainbow will take you across the mountains of Motown, through the fjords of folk, over the archipelagos of Americana, and-at last-into a funky firth, where only the fiercest of friendships can be found.
"'Again' plays on themes relating to the relationship between life and death. Death, however, is represented by failure. But failure is necessary and often more valuable than success. You learn from failure," Joe shares. "You gain knowledge and understanding of yourself, and the circumstances and actions that led to an undesirable outcome. You gain empathy, perseverance, and sensitivity. When I look back at my life, my failures are what I remember best and for that I am grateful. True failure is when you do not learn from your mistakes. However, the song takes a somber tone and recognizes that, while these failures were indeed essential, they are still perceived as “falling short of expectations.” This song more than anything, is an attempt to acknowledge and rationalize my own shortcomings."
lyrics
Suffocating in the colors
Full sail without a rudder
I'm lookin' back
Oh I needed the rush
I needed to touch
And I lost track
In my head I try to leave
I mark out the path
Will I find peace if I let go
But I wait around
I have failed before
And I will fail again
I spent my soul playing catch up with the wind
Buried in the dust, is where we all will end
Every time I die, yeah, I’ll be born again
In the mornings in the forest
Where gods show their purpose
And come alive
Where light through the trees
Ignites all their leaves, there is no time
And in my head I try to leave
I mark out the path
Will I find peace if I let go
But I wait around
I have failed before
And I will fail again
I spent my soul playing catch up with the wind
Buried in the dust, is where we all will end
Every time I die, yeah, I’ll be born again
I’m waiting at the starting line
And it seems that I've been left behind
Yet I’m the one beneath the lights
Bleachers seatless, everyone is on their feet tonight
I’m waiting at the starting line
And it seems that I've been left behind
Yet I’m the one beneath the lights
Bleachers seatless, everyone is on their feet tonight
I have failed before
And I will fail again
I spent my soul playing catch up with the wind
Buried in the dust, is where we all will end
Every time I die, yeah, I’ll be born again
