Betelgeuse

a man sat under a tree
for twenty years to try to still the world
and when he opened his eyes
skyscrapers stood beside him

when i look at the sky at night
i feel bigger than the sun
the stars look down upon me
and i'm high as hell and a little lonely
but at least i know where life came from

and one night, when i watched closely
a star died in the night
its ashes spread around me
while the dark of space had found me
but at least i knew, where i came from

i had known that i'd found the end
cause where death hides is where life begins
and i looked for god, but i only heard the wind
and i saw life… i took flight
i saw, the universe inside, between the space of two eyes

when i look around me i see that
we're all made of stars
their eyes will gaze upon me
a carbon haze surrounds me
as time disintegrates i know i am everything

one night i brought my lover
and when i looked into her eyes
i saw the universe expanding
while our bodies were quaking and collapsing
and then i knew where life begins

i’d known that i had found the start
in a moment's’ breath i had made my mark
and i looked for god between the paces of your heart
and i found life, i took flight
i saw, the universe inside, between the space between two eyes
